Wider organisation

Mary Hare School came to its current home near Newbury in 1946. Since that time the organisation has grown to include a number of businesses and services.

Arlington Arts Centre

Arlington Arts Centre is well known locally and offers a vibrant programmes of music, comedy, dance and drama.

Opened in October 2006 by singer and songwriter KT Tunstall, initially the venue was intended as a school resource that could be hired to the local community. Since then, Arlington Arts has grown to be considered one of the leading music venues in the South of England.

The arts centre continues to provide support to Mary Hare School and its wider activities with our profits from live events, community projects and corporate hires being donated to the national school for the deaf.  With an up to date auditorium and lighting and sound technology, it always adds a certain flair to school productions!

Mary Hare Hearing Services comprises of two businesses which form a comprehensive hearing care service.

Each of the businesses is jointly owned by Mary Hare and a major hearing aid manufacturer. Because of our unique partnership with Mary Hare  School which has been a trusted name in audiology for over 130 years, 50% of our profits go to Mary Hare School. So by choosing one of our products you’re actively supporting the education of deaf children and young people from across the UK.

Mary Hare Hearing Centre

Mary Hare Hearing Centre is located in Parkway Shopping, in Newbury town centre. It offers a comprehensive hearing care service including free initial hearing assessments, advanced hearing technology, a superb aftercare package and professional wax removal.

Hearing Aid Repair Shop

Founded in 2002, the Hearing Aid Repair Shop (HARS) offers a fast and efficient repairs service of all makes and models of hearing aids, wherever you live in the UK and beyond. You can also buy all your hearing aid batteries, wax guards and accessories form their online shop.
