Course description

Overview

This course is suitable for Teachers of the Deaf, Educational Audiologists, Registered Hearing Aid Dispensers and assistants in audiology clinics.  This course will form part of the HCA course.  Attendees are welcome to attend just for this element of the course to obtain the BSA Certificate.

Training for otoscopy and impression taking (to British Society of Audiology standards).

The day includes basic anatomy and physiology, what to look for on otoscopy and practical skills in otoscopy and impression taking to BSA standards.  Delegates who complete the training will be required to pass a practical and written assessment before they obtain the certificate of practice.  The practical assessment is undertaken on the day, and the written assessment is taken away as homework to be completed within 4 weeks of the course.  The course is 8-9 hours over one day including the practical assessment.
