Course description

Overview

This course is suitable for GPs, School Nurses, Nurse Practitioners, Teacher of the Deaf and Educational Audiologists.

This course is designed for professionals in healthcare and education, who are not qualified audiologists, but who wish to carry out basic audiometry as part of their service. This course will form part of the HCA course.  Attendees are welcome to attend just for this element of the course to obtain the BSA Certificate.

This course includes:

  • Intro to anatomy and physiology
  • Otoscopy interpretation
  • Air and bone conduction audiometry (theory and interpretation)
  • Intro to physics of sound
  • Air conduction audiometry (practical)
  • Otoscopy (practical)

Delegates who complete the training must pass a practical assessment in otoscopy, air conduction audiometry and tympanometry to gain their certificate.
