We say 'Au revoir'

Back
The French Department and the Year 11 GCSE students said goodbye to Morgane who has been at the school as a French Assistant since October

Whilst many mainstream schools are finding their budgets cut for language assistants, Peter Gale, Principal fully supports the funding of this

'I think it is even more important' says Peter Gale, ' for deaf children to get the opportunity to learn another language

In mainstream this is not normally the case.'The Year 11 GCSE French students arranged a picnic in the grounds to say goodbye

Morgane, who is returning to France to pursue a qualification and career in teaching. 'I think that Mary Hare is a unique place' she said

'I have felt very welcomed

It has been gratifying to work with deaf children and I now know that I would like to work with children with special needs

I have noticed a great improvement in their conversational French so I feel I have made a difference.'Many of those that Morgane has worked with this year will be going on to study French at A Level in the 6th Form.We wish Morgane luck for her next steps.
