Virtual talks a success
Hilary Kay and Rory Stewart each gave an online talk, raising £2500 towards the appeal. Hilary Kay one of the most familiar faces on the BBC‘s long-running Antiques Roadshow series and a recent presenter of the landmark series, Brilliantly British, exploring the lives of Thomas Chippendale, Josiah Wedgwood and William Morris talked about the intriguing world of master forgers, whilst Rory Stewart, former UK Secretary of State for International Development and currently a Senior Fellow at the Jackson Institute, Yale University recounted his epic journey walking across Afghanistan in 2002.Both events were really well attended with over 40 people at each

As a local centre of excellence, the Mary Hare School for Deaf Children includes postgrad education, training courses and research. It continues to modernise and construct new buildings and their current fundraising focus is a new Primary School.‘
