As well as swimming when at school, many pupils continue their love of this when back at home

Her love of acting and of swimming landed her with the ideal opportunity to audition for a part in CBBC‘s mini drama ‘Freestyle‘

Jasmine was successful in getting the lead role which features a young deaf girl who has set her sights on taking part in the Deaflympics.We caught up with Jasmine to find out more. Why did you want to audition for this role?I‘ve been always dream about being on the TV, I never give up and I tried to find some way to achieve my dream. Also, most of my friends told me that I‘m such a natural actress. I was involving the drama workshop, It was imparted me to realised that acting is the part of me. What did you have to do at the audition?I was interviewed by the director. I did a bit of acting from the little scripts. Is this your first acting role?No, I had an acting role before in drama but it was my first time having an acting role on the TV. What was the most fun part?I don‘t really have the most fun because it was such a fun to act and learn a new experience. Also, I loved acting as a different role. Tell us about your swimming.How often do you train?Swimming is always my favourite sport! I always feel that I‘m free in the water. I trained twice a week. I did triathlon training in every Saturday. I swam average of 62 length and my stamina is getting better. ‘Swimming is not about perfection‘ ‘It‘s all about persistence!‘ Is there anything else you would like to tell us about your time during this film making?I‘m showing the people that to being deaf, it‘s nothing wrong to being ashamed for being deaf! I‘m proud of myself!
