Mary Hare Biography
Mary Hare then set up Dene Hollow Oral School for the Deaf in Brighton.Other fascinating parts of Mary Hare's life include her membership of the local Women's Liberal Association and her part in the 'Mud March' in 1907 organised by the National Union of Women's Suffrage
During the First World War Mare Hare also helped to run the Brighton branch of the Women Police Volunteers.Mary Hare School in Newbury has occupied the same site since January 1946, two months after the death of Mary Hare in November 1945.To read the full biography by the Oxford University Press, visit
