Makeover Magic
The challenge was to achieve a makeover of the common room used by boys from 11 to 15 years old
The finished design was achieved with the expertise of the Ben Heath team, and with input from the boys themselves.Funds were raised by Ben Heath including £4000 from Tesco Bags for Help, £1175 from the John Lewis Community Tokens scheme and £285 from the local Waitrose store‘s ‘Community Matters‘ initiative. With new flooring, décor and furniture, carefully thought out to appeal to the boys‘ taste and requirements, the end result provides a welcoming social space
A colour scheme of muted greys and reds, along with modern furniture and artwork has given the space a contemporary feel
The new space was officially opened on Thursday 25th April.Peter Gale, Principal, said, ‘we are always struggling to maintain and improve the living environment for our pupils
The surroundings are so important to their development
