Last week, in celebration of International Women in Engineering Day, some of our Year 7s took a trip to the Williams Racing Experience Centre.

This event, held by Williams Racing Experience Centre, looks to encourage and inspire more young women and girls to take up STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering & Mathematics) careers. The pupils enjoyed a tour around the centre and museum, the chance to try 3 different engineering tasks, which were all explained by female engineers, as well as the special opportunity to meet Nicholas Latifi.

Year 7 pupil, Maya, shared her experience: 'Our trip to the Williams Racing Industry was very cool! We had a very entertaining time and it has inspired me to consider a career in engineering. I learned a lot about the parts of a Formula 1 car and enjoyed the tour of all the Williams cars in the races throughout the years. We also has a chance to meet Nicholas Latifi and managed to get our baseball caps signed! Overall, I had a very fun time and I would definitely recommend this opportunity to any girls interested in building or engineering.'

Upcoming events

We have several events throughout the year for parents, pupils and professionals. We know how important it is for you to see our school in action, to meet pupils and staff and to enjoy our hospitality.
