There were double celebrations this month for Georgie Ellis who received two awards at the Unique Arts Awards.
The Unique Art Awards is an Art Competition for disabled children between the ages of 7 - 21 years old. Georgie came First in the Youth Digital Category and Second place in the overall competition, receiving a Gold and Silver award.
Georgie shared her experience of the event:
"The organisers of the Unique Arts Award invited me to dinner at a hotel in London as a finalist in the digital art category of their competition. The evening started off with a dinner, which was lovely"
After dinner the people who had helped to organise the event presented awards to the participants for each category:
"In each category there was a gold, silver and bronze award. There was also a gold, silver and bronze overall winner of the Unique Arts Awards. I was in the youth category and wasn‘t expecting to win the gold award for my category and the silver award for the overall prize. I won prize money and vouchers for an art supplier for myself and also some vouchers for the school Art & Design Department."
A huge congratulations Georgie, what a wonderful achievement. A fantastic way to start the new academic year! Click here to find out more about the Unique Arts Awards.
