A Head for Heights
The theme this year is 'Find your Brave'.HRH The Duchess of Cambridge is Royal Patron of Place2Be and sent a special message supporting this year's Children's Mental Health Week, 'For many children today, the world can feel a scary and daunting place
While we might not always feel brave inside, even the smalles act, such as sharing a worry or asking for help, can be incredibly courageous
Helping children to feel confident about seeking support can have a transformational impact on their lives.'Children's Mental Health Week focuses on the importance of children and young people's wellbeing
Bravery comes in all shapes and sizes and means different things to different people. The pupils at Mary Hare have learnt about the different ways that bravery can be identified
It could be trying something new and testing your own limits, or having the confidence to speak up and about worries or asking for help.150 pupils took part in the climbing wall
They all said that it tested their limits and made them feel brave after having given it a go.With one in five children being directly affected by mental health, the benefits of challenges such as climbing are huge.Head of PE, Miss Colby and Wellbeing Coordinator Miss Hadley said, 'we are so proud of all the young people finding their 'brave' today
We have had a lot of laughter, courage and fun
It is so important to think about our mental health as much as our physical healgh
Can we do this every day please?!'
