Mary Hare Primary School

In September 2022 we relocated and opened our brand-new, state-of-the-art Primary School. 

The Mary Hare Foundation raised £4 million towards the project and the new school has been designed to maximise the learning experience for deaf young people.

Mary Hare Primary School offers a vibrant curriculum that is tailored to meet the needs of our deaf pupils, with vocabulary and language at the heart of everything we do. Your child will flourish as they make friends with deaf peers and build on their self-esteem and confidence in their identity.

I hope you enjoy reading about us and what we offer at Mary Hare Primary School. Since moving our school to our brand-new home in 2022 we have had huge interest and we would be thrilled to welcome you round to take a look round the school as you get to know us and see us in action.

I am hugely proud of the expertise, support and state-of-the-art facilities that we offer at the Primary school that enable deaf children to succeed in an ever-changing and evolving hearing world.

Our Learning Approach

Often when pupils enroll at Mary Hare School they are at different starting points of their educational journey, and we work closely with them to make sure they settle in. Class sizes are typically between 5 and 8 pupils per class, working with a Teacher of the Deaf as well as Teaching Assistants, which means plenty of one-to-one support is available to pupils to ensure they can thrive in the classroom.
