Beauty Therapy

Course details

The following Beauty Therapy qualifications are for anyone interested in starting or advancing a career in beauty therapy. Our certificates and diplomas cover a wide range of skills, from nail technology, make-up, facials, and lash and brow treatments through to body massage and spray tanning.

Entry Level 3
Designed to build on your interest and passion for the hair and beauty industry, this course covers a wide range of skills from hair styling, plaiting and twisting to make-up or nail art. This qualification is designed for people who want to prepare for further learning or training in the hair and beauty sector.

Level 1
Ideal if you’re just starting out in hair and beauty and want an understanding of the industry.
You will complete two mandatory units:
• Introduction to the hair and beauty sector.
• Presenting a professional image in a salon.
You will also study one or a number of optional units including: Skin Care, Nail Art and Hair Styling.

Level 2
Ideal if you are new to Beauty Therapy or have some knowledge and basic skills in the industry, probably from a role where you work under supervision.
Suitable if you want to increase your skills, maybe to start your first job in the area or take on more responsibility.

Level 3
This level is ideal if you’ve worked in Beauty Therapy for some time or have taken a Level 2. Your work might involve supervising others or managing resources. You want to develop your skills.

Entry requirements
There are no formal requirements other than a desire to learn Beauty Therapy and to work in the hair and beauty industry.

Course assessment
The course is made up of assignments or online tests to show underpinning knowledge has been understood and practical assessments for all treatments.
