Digital Functional Skills

Description of the course

All students not selecting Computer Science as an option will follow this core Digital Functional Skills programme. The Pearson Edexcel Functional Skills Qualification will enable learners to initiate and participate in digital and online activities safely in the workplace and other real-life contexts.

The programme consists of:

• Using devices and handling information
• Creating and editing
• Communicating
• Transacting
• Being safe and responsible online

Assessment:

• One externally assessed exam of up to 2 hours (depending on level)
  • Starting point is Entry Level 3
  • Students who are successful at Entry Level 3 could potentially go on to Level 1
• Students will be required to carry out tasks using appropriate digital resources
