Veronica Thorvardarson is a co-module leader on the Educational Audiology Anatomy & Physiology module (7FHE1100) at Mary Hare Courses partnered with the University of Hertfordshire. Veronica has life-long experience of deafness – including herself and some members of her family. Veronica has a keen interest in hearing rehabilitation (whether with hearing aids or cochlear implants) and audiology.

Background 

Veronica had a career in banking before training as a secondary school teacher (Information and Communication Technology). She later trained as a teacher of deaf children and young people at the University of Birmingham and taught in a school for deafness and complex needs. Veronica has also completed a MSc in Educational Audiology with Mary Hare/ University of Hertfordshire in 2023. She works full-time as a qualified teacher of deaf children and young people, and Educational Audiologist, in the West Midlands. She is also specialist lecturer at Oxford Brookes University in Deaf Awareness.
