Joy holds a doctorate and master’s degree in audiology, a master’s degree in deaf education, and a postgraduate certificate in higher education. Her research and practice interests have included working in partnership, early years identification and intervention, and educational audiology service development both nationally and in the global south. She is a Principal Fellow of the Higher Education Academy and also of the British Society of Audiology.
